QR Code Login

To enable AlphaSum, users are prompted to scan a QR code that establishes a secure connection to their Telegram account. This process typically involves two devices:

Device #1: Display Device

The user may log into Telegram Web or Telegram Desktop on a laptop, tablet, or other secondary device. AlphaSum will present a QR code on this screen during the setup process.

Device #2: Scanning Device

On the user’s primary mobile device, navigate to Settings → Devices → Link a Device within the Telegram app. Scan the displayed QR code, which grants AlphaSum permission to read and process messages from the user’s whitelisted groups.

Binding to User Credentials

Once scanned, Telegram recognizes AlphaSum as a distinct, authorized session. Messages from whitelisted groups become accessible for summarization.

Technical Notes

All communications between AlphaSum, Telegram’s infrastructure, and any supportive AI services are protected by industry-standard encryption protocols, including TLS 1.2+ and MTProto.
